Kyrgyzstan Attractions
Kyrgyzstan is probably one of the Soviet Satellite Republics prior to the Soviet Union collapsed. Despite the political tension within the country within the past decade, the present regime has mostly isolated the turmoil in the southern regions on the region. Kyrgyzstan is probably one of the most progressive nations in central Asia.
Kyrgyzstan is predominantly Muslim with practically three fourths of its population being Muslims. However the region isn’t as strict as other Muslim nations and headscarves for women are not by and large watched.
Kyrgyzstani cuisine is mostly meat based. It is attributed to their nomadic roots where ancient Kyrgyzstani seldom stay in a location long enough to grow their own crops. Meat dishes are outstanding and are ideal matches to most alcoholic drinks especially vodka. There is in addition a strong Russian influence when considering the cuisine as well as the selection of beverage.
Travel & Leisure – Oxymoron?
For me, travel and leisure, like sweet and sour, is an oxymoron. I don’t find travel relaxing. On the contrary, I find it stressful, frustrating, and too much like work. My worst nightmare is the thought of packing a suitcase. It’s on par with The Exorcist and the Night of the Living Dead, in terms of sheer terror. I feel as if I have been assigned the task of pounding round pegs into square holes or playing tennis with an unstrung racquet. It just can’t be done (by me anyway)!
Then, there is the planning and worse yet, re-planning, because this date isn’t available, that hotel is booked up, and this flight is full! It’s enough to challenge your patience, if not your sanity.
When all these obstacles have been conquered, you must then attend the post 911security theatre playing now at an airport near you!
Honestly, if some entrepreneurial genius would just launch a new airline (they could call it “Air Naked”) for nudists or anyone, for that matter, willing to fly sans apparel, the security lines would move faster than Roadrunner dodging Wile E. Coyote’s falling anvil because even nuns would shed their habit to get past TSA (Totalitarian State of Airport) with some alacrity.
Vietnam Landmarks
Volumes have been said and printed about Vietnam’s bitter past, a scar that will continue a scalding reminder from the struggles and hardship they long endured. The Vietnamese core family values and also the spirit to take proper care of one’s family, one’s relative, and the relative’s kin, sum up the collective resolve of a country, battered and beaten to a pulp, but stood up again; this occasion internationally economic stage. Vietnam is standing proudly. It may be the political and economic progress of this nation of 83 million inhabitants during the last ten years that catapulted this nation into a onset of tiger economy, a long way from its initial political and economic isolation inside the aftermath of the Vietnam war and properly into the 80′s.
Vietnam is the place to find two Globe Organic Heritage sites namely Halong Bay and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in addition to scenic normal landscapes such as the PhuQuoc island and also the historic villages along the Mekong River. Vietnamese cuisine is fast gaining popularity and recognition for its elegant simplicity and healthful preparation characterized by utilizing hardly any oil and a mix of vegetables. The Vietnamese coastal regions abound with popular and world-class beaches and scenic boat rides. But nothing strikes on spot the essence of Vietnam as a striking view of large expanse of rice fields using the harvesters, clad in their native A
Olive Picking Holiday in Italy
If you are interested in having a holiday with a difference how about going olive picking. There are still places where olives are harvested by hand and you are welcome to join in and help – no experience required. Olive picking holidays are available in a number of regions of Italy, with Umbria, Le Marche and Abruzzo providing the greatest choice. You can spend anything from half a day to several weeks olive picking. Also you can choose between a luxury break or opt as we did to work as a volunteer. This article describes how we went on an olive picking holiday in Italy volunteering with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.
Last November we travelled to Umbria in Italy to start a weeks ‘holiday’ olive picking. Having paid our money, arranged our flights and boarded the train all that now remained was for us to meet up with our fellow olive pickers at Spoleto station. There were eight of us on this holiday, most staying for a single week and most of us novice olive pickers. Accommodation was in a beautiful old stone house which had originally been the home of the family working the olive grove. The evening air was scented with mint and thyme and although it was almost dark when we arrived it was possible to just make out the shape of the olive trees which surrounded us. Red wine and an open fire soon had us feeling drowsy; it was time for a good nights sleep as tomorrow we would start work.

Thailand Travel Tips
Be weary of people, both foreign and Thai, with elaborate hard luck stories or offers of incredible business deals. Always keep important valuables locked away in your hotel safe.
Do not carry a lot of cash on you and always keep your money and wallet in a hard to reach place. There are many pick pockets operating in Pattaya and be extra careful of groups of ladies when on a baht bus and also of the lady boys who approach you. If a lady boy comes up to you or brushes against you then the first thing you should do is check your pockets and make sure nothing is missing.
Be careful picking up freelancers especially at the late night discos as some of these girls have been known to drug a foreigner once back at his hotel and then leave with all his valuables and money.
